RE: Important Change Affecting All Dialup Accounts
Effective September 20th through 27th, 2004, all dialup accounts will change as a result of our efforts to increase coverage, consolidate usernames, and most importantly, improve service. This change will affect your username and the number you dial into to connect to the Internet, and will require action on your behalf.
Coverage will increase significantly for all plans. We have added over 8,000 access numbers across all of our dialup plans. New access numbers can be found at http://www.phillipsdata.com/access.php?p=search.
We will be reformatting and consolidating usernames for all plans. The new format is username@phillipsdata.com. The suffix, @phillipsdata.com is replacing @inet, .inet@anywhere, .inet@ibizdialup.com, .inet@4fastdial.com, and .inet@dialusa. Your e-mail address will not be affected.
We have released new software as well and highly recommend that you install our dialer. You can download our dialer at http://www.phillipsdata.com/dialer/dialer.exe. It is a quick download and will allow you to easily make the necessary changes to your computer to connect with a new number and reformatted username. Our dialer contains a list of every access number, making it easy to try an alternative if you find yourself unable to connect, and can help us diagnose any problems you might have while connecting. We have also released a new setup program which can be used for configuring a new computer or for signing up a new account. Our setup program is available at http://www.phillipsdata.com/dialer/setup.exe. Important note for all Hi-Speed Slipstream users: You will need to download the latest version of our Slipstream accelerator at http://www.phillipsdata.com/dialer/web_accel.exe. You must uninstall your existing version before installing our new version.
You will be able to connect with your reformatted username, and new access number on or after September 20th. Your existing username format and access number will no longer be active after September 27th.
Attached you will find a short tutorial on making these changes to your computer. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us. If you would like to make the switch before September 20th, just give us a call, send an e-mail to support at [phillipsdata.com], or open a trouble ticket in AC4.
Thank you for your continued support!
